After two territorial meetings and some online tutoring (mentoring) activities, it's time to welcome for the residential internship at the Sant'Anna School, from Tuesday, May 9 to Thursday, May 11, the first group of about 120 participants in the MeMo (Merit and Social Mobility) project, selected on the basis of merit and origin from backgrounds of possible economic and social fragility. These are students attending the penultimate year of high school in schools throughout Italy.

The symbol of this edition of MeMo is an eraser, as a reminder that, at 17 years old, choices can be written and rewritten, thought and rethought, changed and discussed, always putting themselves in the front row, to try their hand at achieving even the most unthinkable challenges and goals. The common thread of the four moments (marvel, explore, motivate, orient) is the willingness to question oneself.

The first group expected in Pisa will meet with professors, researchers and prominent figures to discuss together issues such as modernity, the future, and conscious choices. Indeed, the students selected for MeMo show remarkable abilities and achieve excellent results even at the extracurricular level, yet they may not be exploiting their full potential, given their backgrounds. On this last point, the MeMo project tries to intervene, offering tools, (info)training and shared experience for a more conscious choice towards university studies, thanks also to the experience of about 70 student tutors from the Sant'Anna School, in collaboration with the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Conferenza dei Collegi Universitari di Merito.
